One of my very favorite times of the month is when I get my new Try the World box, and this most recent box did not disappoint! Filled with goodies from Marrakech, a major city in the colorful country of Morocco (and on my top five list of places to travel to), this box exploded with flavor as soon as I opened it. I love African and Mediterranean spices, and I can’t wait to figure out different recipes to use with these products!
Harissa is a staple in Moroccan cuisine, and is made from peppers ground together with spices. I have some quinoa in my cupboard that is just waiting for a little bit of this flavor!
Included in this box was a jar of preserved lemon confit – though I’ve never had preserved Beldi lemons before, I have a feeling it will go perfectly with a dessert I have planned for Easter!
The Kefta rub included in the box smells absolutely incredible, as does the Ras-El-Hanout blend. I’m looking forward to seasoning some lamb or beef with this soon!
And then there’s the sardines – for some reason, they have such a bad reputation! When in reality, they are used in regular cuisine all over the world. I’ve been thinking of making my own Caesar dressing, and these might just do the trick.
Come back later for a recipe using the culinary argon oil also included in the box – it’s perfect for entertaining, and you might just find some inspiration for your own Easter feast this weekend.
