One of my very favorite things to do these days is participate in as many designer events as possible. It gets my creative juices flowing, and often I get to design a tablescape or vignette that has a style different than my own.
I was invited to participate in the bB Volume 1 event by borrowed Blu, a tabletop rental company based out of Los Angeles. The event took place in May at the Modern, a light-filled loft space next to the Long Beach airport. I was tasked with using the inspiration board that they assigned to me in a tablescape.
Here was the original vision:
The industrial texture of the matte plates from borrowed BLU combined with the lustrous elegance of the marble charger was a great foundation to build upon. The original inspiration sent to me also included an image of smoke, which is why I chose to use a gauzy black runner over the rustic table from Found. It had the same movement that I saw in the photo, and I was really happy with the end result! Finally, I wanted to keep everything light while while also utilizing the color and style included in the original vision board. I chose crystals for this because of the way the light is reflected in them. The florals were kept simple in an effort to really showcase the rest of the elements on the table.
And here is the final product, with photos by Krista Mason!
Congratulations to all the other designers that participated in this fun event! I hope I get to work with you all again soon!
