I’ve started calling myself a “hostess” recently because it really does encompass exactly what I want to be. It’s not just parties; it’s making people feel as if they are always welcome in my home. Hospitality is SUCH a value of mine, and what better way to show people that my home is their home than by throwing a party!
Our little home in Ojai, California is just really perfect for these intimate gatherings. It’s not too big, but we have a great front room with some really beautiful beautiful windows to let the light in. I just knew that I needed to use it for something special!
Over the weekend some of my favorite ladies and I got together for a holiday brunch. Both the champagne and the conversation were flowing, and we all had a fabulous time. It was just a really lovely afternoon.
Isn’t our tree stunning? We got it at Wachters, which has the most beautiful selection of Christmas trees.
I always get asked where I got our “Welcome Home” sign – I actually designed it and ordered it custom. It hangs above our dining room table right as you walk in the front door.
I wanted something easy for my holiday brunch, so I opted for a board with smoked salmon and different toppings, as well as both cream cheese and goat cheese.
How adorable are those parfaits in the champagne flutes?! I have a feeling this won’t be the last time that I use that idea.
Persimmons and pomegranates make easy (and inexpensive) decor for the holiday season!
I will likely share the recipe for this AMAZING tiramisu crepe cake soon!
I offered both orange juice and grapefruit juice to go with the champagne, as well as strawberries pureed with gin and peaches pureed with St. Germain. Yum!
Not bad for flowers found at Trader Joe’s at four o’clock on a Saturday afternoon, yeah?
The boys left with Robert before the party got started, but I couldn’t not share these sweet photos. I just love them.
Thanks to Kristin at Modish Digital for the photos!
